Un-embossed / Electronic Use Cards, American Express, Diners and cash payments are not accepted for either rental charges or the security deposit.
The accepted cards listed above must be in the main driver’s name, have sufficient funds to cover the excess liability, and have an expiration date of at least 2 months beyond the return date of the rental. All cards must have both the card number and expiry date clearly visible; cards without these details cannot be accepted. If a valid card is not provided, the booking may be cancelled, and no refund will be issued for any prepaid amount.
In the event that the original booking was paid for utilising a third party credit or debit card, hirers may be required to present details, permissions and authorisation relating to the transaction. Failure to provide the information requested may result in the hire being refused.
Please be aware that if you use your debit card for the security deposit and/or the fuel deposit it can take up to 30 days for this to reach your account once it has been refunded by the car hire supplier at the end of the rental. This is due to international banking systems not due to delays by either the car rental company or Clarify Car Hire.
Please note that payment for the rental or deposit via a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay etc. will not be accepted at the hire desk. The lead driver must present a physical payment card in their name.
Accepted for payments are:
Credit card (Visa/Mastercard), Debit card (Visa/Mastercard), Maestro, Electron and Cash.
Non-embossed cards, Prepaid cards, Chinese Union pay credit cards, Dinners and American Express will not be accepted for final payments.
Accepted for deposit pre-authorisation are:
Credit card (Visa/Mastercard), Debit card (Visa/Mastercard), Maestro, Electron and Cash.
Non-embossed cards, Prepaid cards, Chinese Union pay credit cards, Dinners and American Express will not be accepted for deposits.
The pre-authorised deposit will be blocked for the duration of the hire and automatically released at the end of it.
Depending on the chosen bank, customers may experience a delay in seeing the pre-authorised funds show as cleared.
