Debit Card Car Hire at Ireland West Airport Knock

Debit cards can only be accepted if either a credit card is also provided to cover the excess or the customer purchases a Super Collision Damage Waiver product (Risk Reduction Cover), which reduces the excess to €250 the amount of which must be left as a deposit.
At the time of rental, there must be sufficient credit on your card to cover all charges including the excess/deductible amount. The excess applies per incident, not per rental.
Payment must be made with a physical credit/debit card in the principal driver's name as Europcar do not accept cash, cheques, accredited, prepaid or preloaded cards or credit cards from a third party. Holders of a 'Chip and Pin' card must know their PIN number.
Regardless of the level of coverage purchased, ALL renters will be subject to a minimum pre-authorisation on their credit card of the vehicle excess amount plus €50. This is in the event of traffic fines, toll charges etc.
