Debit Card Car Hire at Katowice Airport
The renter allows a deposit plus the estimated rental cost to be drawn from the credit card at the beginning of rental to cover any excess/self-risk, fuel, penalties or any other unforeseen cost. The final statement will be done soonest possible after check-in of the vehicle.
When purchasing the SCDW package, the customers are allowed to use the debit cards for the deposits (if allowed by the bank) and payments, except for Maestro Debit Cards.
Please be aware that if you use your debit card for the security deposit and/or the fuel deposit it can take up to 30 days for this to reach your account once it has been refunded by the car hire supplier at the end of the rental. This is due to international banking systems not due to delays by either the car rental company or Clarify Car Hire.
Please note that payment for the rental or deposit via a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay etc. will not be accepted at the hire desk. The lead driver must present a physical payment card in their name.
For security reasons, a security deposit shall be pre-authorised. The card must be in the name of the main/lead driver. Unless the Premium Package is taken a credit card is mandatory. The method of capturing this deposit and the deductible shall only be performed using the physical credit card provided to the rental company by the renter or the additional driver listed and signing the contract.
In the event that cash is used as a form of payment, for security reasons, it will be necessary to block the total amount of the deductible on a physical and valid credit card in the name of the renter or the additional driver to cover any additional charges. If no incidents occur with the vehicle during the rental period, the pre-authorised deductible and deposit shall be unblocked on the card provided by the customer. This unblocking shall be done automatically upon closing of the contract; in some cases, this refund may take several business days depending on the bank and transaction processing.
The card must have sufficient available credit to cover the excess / deposit amount (which will be pre-authorised on the card throughout the hire period) which can take up to 30 days to be returned depending on the issuing bank of the card and neither OK Mobility nor Clarify Car Hire take any responsibility if the amount returned is not the same as the amount taken due to exchange rate fluctuations and/or bank charges. Any local charges, extras or other equipment or services purchased at the car hire desk will also be charged to the card.
