Cash payments, cheques, prepaid cards and unembossed cards other than credit cards are not accepted.
The renter allows the deposit plus estimated rental cost to be drawn from the credit card at the beginning of the rental to cover any excess/self-risk, fuel, penalties or any other unforeseen cost. The final statement will be done soonest possible after the vehicle has been checked in. The credit/debit card must be in the lead driver's name.
Please be aware that if you use your debit card for the security deposit and/or the fuel deposit it can take up to 30 days for this to reach your account once it has been refunded by the car hire supplier at the end of the rental. This is due to international banking systems not due to delays by either addCar or Clarify Car Hire.
Please note that payment for the rental or deposit via a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay etc. will not be accepted at the hire desk. The lead driver must present a physical payment card in their name.
All credit card payments will be subject to and must pass CHIP and PIN verification.
Accepted for local rental charges are Credit Card (VISA / Mastercard), Pre-Paid (VISA / Mastercard), Debit Card.
Accepted for the security deposit are Credit and Debit cards VISA / Mastercard. Debit cards are accepted for the deposit with all packages.
The accepted cards listed above must be in the main driver’s name, have sufficient funds to cover the excess liability and have an expiration date of at least 2 months beyond the return date of the rental. All cards must have both the card number and expiry date clearly visible; cards without these details cannot be accepted. If a valid card is not provided, the booking may be cancelled, and no refund will be issued for any prepaid amount.
In the event that the original booking was paid for utilising a third-party credit or debit card, hirers may be required to present details, permissions and authorisation relating to the transaction. Failure to provide the information requested may result in the hire being refused.
Failure to present a valid method of payment or there is a lack of sufficient funds available on the Credit Card or if the Credit Card expires within 2 months of hire return date, the car rental agent may refuse the release of the vehicle. No funds paid will be reimbursed.
